Dizzy spells and blackouts can be caused by a variety of conditions, some of which may be serious. Dr Hinton will discuss your symptoms to provide an initial diagnosis and determine if further investigations are necessary. Often, the first step is to arrange an ECG and a heart monitor. While some cases of dizzy spells or blackouts can be managed with simple advice and lifestyle modifications, others may require interventions such as a pacemaker or medication. 

High blood pressure is very common, particularly as we get older. In younger patients, it can sometimes be linked to other conditions that may require further investigation. Dr Hinton will assess whether additional tests are necessary and will customise your tablet control to help reduce the risk of long-term complications of high blood pressure, including heart attack or stroke.

Dr Hinton is skilled at assessing future risk of heart disease, utilising the latest risk assessment tools such as QRISK3 and SCORE2. He will work with you to develop strategies to help reduce your risk. Some patients might benefit from a CT coronary angiogram or calcium score to help refine the risk assessment.
